The store receipts you get when you make purchases contain a lot of information. Keeping track of those purchase facts can be a nightmare if you try to enter every transaction with all its details into a spreadsheet. Saving the actual receipts may or may not be important for filling your taxes depending on the type of purchase you’ve made. Either way, digging through the receipts to find information you need can be a difficult chore. With Easy Bills you can capture the photo of that receipt and upload it into your Easy Bills transactions.
Step 1: Upload the Receipt
First, open the “New Transaction” page. Then, fill fields out normally (category, date, amount, etc), but from now on, you will see a new field, called “Receipt”. There, you will see a button that allows you to “Choose File.” Click that button and upload your receipt. If you’re using a mobile phone, that’s fine and you can even use your camera to take a photo directly, without having to save a file, etc. Click “Save” and done!
You can also edit old transactions and add receipts to them.
Step 2: Find and Work with the Receipt
After you’ve uploaded the file and added its very basic information, you can go to “Transactions” for the month in question. There, you will see the date you made the purchase, the category you have chosen, the account, the description if you’ve added one, the amount and, of course, the image of the receipt.
Click on it to see the image on its original size.
